(Prev: Neck Bolt View)

Just to be different I used an abalone dot to enhance the heel of the neck. I felt the wood grain alone was a bit too conservative. Abalone’s grain is directional, but difficult to establish, because it has to be sanded to the surface of its surrounding inlay material. Meaning, that at times, the light will reflect differently as the abalone is sanded to its final contour.

Sometimes you just go with the flow … it ended up giving just enough “bling” to the area to make it a point of interest, not overbearing, in my opinion.
